Dear South Ridingans. This is a new club for toddlers and parents to get together, socialize and help each other out. If as parents you feel that enrolling kids in activities cost a lot of money and you want to get to know other parents and build your own support group for both working, stay at home or single parents. If you feel that your toddler is bored at home watching TV or have older siblings with friends and feel left out, this club is for you and your toddler. We will organize playdate …

This group began because single parents can give each other much needed company and support. Also, this is a great opportunity for our children to make life long friends. The purpose of this group is for single parents in Reston and the surrounding areas to have a local group to socialize with. Any single parent in our area is most welcome to join. Most of the activities will be geared toward elementary and middle school-aged children. Of course parents of babies/teens are always welcome.

As a single mother of Indian origin I find there are some unique challenges inherent in my new lifestyle. I started this group in the hopes of bringing together like-minded individuals with similar goals, challenges, and issues in order to provide a supportive network to one another, and expand our social circle for ourselves and our children. As we expand our friendships, we can enrich our lives through shared experiences with our children, as well as parents-only events. Look forward to expand …

This group was started by two therapists/coaches, Ginny Inglese and Rachel Bailey, who are also parents. In our professional lives, we have over 30 years of combined experience working with hundreds of parents (and non-parents!). Every day we help parents, adolescents, couples, and families deal with issues such as low self-esteem, eating disorders, bullying, academic difficulties, and other stressful situations. Throughout this process, many parents have recognized that in order to help their e …

Most of us 1st and 2nd generation parents in our 20's, 30's and 40's wish to raise our kids within the Indian culture, like our parents tried to do with us. What better way to do this than to socialize with other like minded parents so our kids can be in their cultural surroundings with similar backgrounds, language, food and festivals! If you have young kids or you are about to become a new parent, then lets meet up and create a good group of friends for our kids and ourselves! We'll share our …

I have yet to find an active group of single Muslim parents in the DC area who meet regularly and do activities with their children, so I figured I just need to start my own group!

I am a working mom of a 15-month-old daughter who lives in Loudoun County and wants to meet other moms (and dads) who understand what it is like to juggle parenting and all of the other demands of daily living in this area. I've looked for other meetups like this one, but most of the meetings are during the week during the day. This meetup group will be for parents who want to get together (for playdates, parents events, family outings) on weekends -- and maybe for some dessert/chat on weeknight …

A group for parents, who have kids with asthma and food allergies. A place where we can exchange ideas, as well as get our children to meet others like them. It can be hard sometimes with asthma and food allergies. I want our kids to know that it is ok and that there are ways to work around them. I also want it to be a place where parents can meet others in the same situations and learn from each other.

I wanted to create this group because I am a fulltime older (mid 30's) working mother of a toddler in the Falls Church area. I noticed that there were definitely other groups for working moms of babies and mature mothers in other regions of NOVA, but had a hard time finding something for this group. I would like this group to be dedicated to providing fun activities for you and your children at a working parent's (not just mom's) schedule. We would like to build friendships not only for my toddl …

The purpose of this group is for parents who live in the DC Metro area to meet, mostly on weekends, and play German-style board games. We can also work out communal babysitting opportunities so that players can have some quality adult time. From Wikipedia: "German-style board games are a broad class of tabletop games that generally have simple rules, short to medium playing times, indirect player interaction and attractive physical components. The games emphasize strategy, play down luck and con …

We are an earthy group of families who homeschool or plan to homeschool in one fashion or another for part or all of our children’s education. Many of us come to this from the perspective of attachment theory or attachment parenting. Homeschool doesn't begin when a child reaches the age for standard public school admission. Home learning starts at birth, perhaps before. And, it continues for a lifetime, though this group is established mainly to support school age kids (from birth to adulthood …
